Youth Shot Twice, Dies
Kaiser George Gives Up; Slays Ralph Joseph

Ralph Joseph, who was shot in the stomach and neck by Evans 'Kaiser' George near the St. Joseph Hall in the Savan last night died at 3:30 this morning at the hospital, four hours after the shooting.

George went to the home of Cpl. Matthias to give himself up, and also delivered to him a French made .25 cal. automatic pistol. He was arrested and taken to Fort Christian where he is being detained pending a hearing.

Witnesses said that Joseph was talking to George's girl friend, Cynthia Blyden, when George came up. Joseph and George pushed each other, and when they separated, George warned Joseph, 'Don't come any closer.'

Then George fired two shots and Joseph fell to the ground.

Charles Thompson, who arrived on the scene in his car took him to the hospital.

George told policemen that Joseph provoked him.
