The Louly is somewhat larger than the yachts now owned in the city and draws four and a half feet of water. The following are the dimensions of the new craft:
Length on deck forty-eight feet six inches; beam fourteen feet; depth of hold five feet; length on keel forty feet; centre board eleven feet long, with drop of nine feet; cabin fourteen feet, with a state room, pantry, ice house, and other conveniences. Her frame is of live oak, and her planking the very best yellow pine. Mr. Jones signed the contract on the fourth of May, and has exhibited great dispatch in his work; having finished the boat and spars complete in sixty-one working days. The sails are made by Messrs. Edward Jordon & Sons, of No. 5 duck, and are of the following dimensions: Jib-leech twenty-nine feet; foot twenty-four feet; stay thirty-eight feet; fore sail-leech thirty-five feet seven inches; hoist twenty-nine feet eight inches: gaff thirteen feet four inches; foot twenty-one feet; mainsail-leech thirty-five feet six inches; hoist thirty feet; gaff thirteen feet four inches; foot twenty-five feet-four inches. She will also carry staysail and flying jib. The blacksmith work was executed in a masterly manner by Messrs. Quinlivan & Brothers; the painting by Messrs. Douglas & Miller.

The yacht, christened the "Louly," is larger than existing city yachts, draws four and a half feet of water, and has dimensions: length on deck forty-eight feet six inches; beam fourteen feet; depth of hold five feet; length on keel forty feet; centre board eleven feet long with drop of nine feet; cabin fourteen feet with state room, pantry, ice house, and conveniences. Frame of live oak, planking of yellow pine. Contract signed May 4, completed in sixty-one working days. Sails by Edward Jordon & Sons: jib-leech 29 ft, foot 24 ft, stay 38 ft; fore sail-leech 35 ft 7 in, hoist 29 ft 8 in, gaff 13 ft 4 in, foot 21 ft; mainsail-leech 35 ft 6 in, hoist 30 ft, gaff 13 ft 4 in, foot 25 ft 4 in.
