WAR! WAR! WAR!

The difficulties attending the settlement of the North Eastern Boundary question seem to be increasing to a fearful pitch. The Land Agent of Maine has been seized by forces sent from New Brunswick, and is now detained as prisoner.— Great excitement has been caused in all parts of the State, but particularly at Augusta and Bangor, where preparations are making to defend and protect the borders from any further incursions of her Majesty's subjects. A detachment of 1000 men has been ordered to the seat of confusion, by the Commander in Chief, and already two men have been captured, and are now held as hostages at Bangor. Things present an alarming appearance, but we hope for the sake of the honor of the two nations, an amicable adjustment may soon take place, and all difficulties terminate.
