The hon. Joseph C. Yates, at the first balloting, had 52 votes
And Col. Samuel Young, 31
Judge Yates having had a majority of the whole number present, was declared duly nominated.
The meeting next proceeded to ballot for Lieutenant Governor, and the votes were suspended between Gen. Erastus Root and James Burt, Esq. and after four times balloting,
Erastus Root had 51 votes
And James Burt 35
Gen. Root was thereupon declared to be duly nominated.
The following gentlemen were appointed a committee of correspondence, to further the election of the above candidates:
Messrs. Mooers, S. B. Romaine, Finch, Cramer, Greene, More, Dudley, T. Smith, Remer, Prior, Bouck, Jansen, Seymour, Grant, Tracy, Bronson, Dwinell, Tompkins, Crittenden, Bowne.
And Messrs. Uischeffer, Dwinell, Childs, Greene, Tracy, were appointed a committee to draft an address to the Republican citizens of this state, on the subject of the approaching election.

Republican members of both houses of the Legislature met at the Capitol to nominate candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor. Yates received 52 votes to Young's 31 on first ballot. For Lieutenant Governor, votes split between Root and Burt, with Root getting 51 to Burt's 35 after four ballots.
