Full Text

We have learned that among the documents sent to congress by Ogden and others, there was a copy of a presentment made by the grand jury of the district court U. States against the judge of that court, Mr. Talmadge: we saw in the federal papers, hints to the effect that such presentment had been made against the judge for unconstitutional and tyrannical conduct towards Messrs. Ogden & Smith, but until now doubted their correctness.

As we never were the friends of court tyranny or law tyranny, we hope, if such was practised, that it may be punished—'equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever sect or persuasion, religious or, political,' was one of the most honorable sentiments ever uttered.
