Full Text

JUNE 21.

Orders have been issued from Washington to concentrate all the American ships of war on the Mexican coast. Reader, do you understand? We prepare for the onset!

The Bank tories have intimated that if the United States get into a war with Britain, the Banks will suspend specie payments, hoard up all the specie, and stop the wheels of Government. We have along supposed that a vast majority of the banks were under British influence, that they were controlled by men who would not hesitate to throw their country into the hands of an enemy, if a favorable opportunity should offer, and if their interest could be advanced by it. We should like to see them attempt it. The Hero of New Orleans yet lives! and some of the old Revolutionary Soldiers are still able to shoulder their muskets!!
