REPUBLICAN NAMED AS
DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE

William Koenig, defeated for the Republican nomination for alderman in the Third ward, was selected by lot Monday morning as the Democratic candidate. The selection was made by the election commission, Koenig, Mowry and Dalton being tied for the Democratic nomination with four votes each. Koenig says he does not want the nomination. So do Mowry and Dalton.

If none of them can be induced to accept, the commission will have to select as a candidate either Charles Prag, Republican, or Jacob Guthard, Republican nominee, both having had two Democratic votes.
