The Randolph-Macon and Hampden-Sydney tussle on November 13 at Death Valley takes on more fascination with each passing week. Both sides are contributing to what appears now to be bang-up affair.
The Yellow Jackets won their fifth straight since the opening loss to Richmond with a 27-6 win over Dickinson College at Carlisle, Pa., Saturday.
Coach Paul Severin, of the Ashland Severins also now possesses the State's leading collegiate scorer in Halfback Bernie Pinchbeck, former Blackstone Ram. Bob Lincoln R-M quarterback is both state scorer.
Now with the Tigers resurging after adding to their power with passing and gaining squad morale with a string of victories, it appears that November 13 will be quite a date.
Incidentally, the sports page references to the Jackets quarterback Bob Lincoln as a "freshman" are somewhat misleading. At least, he has wonderful seasoning for a frosh, having played against collegiate opposition for several seasons while running as a back on Newport News Apprentice School squads.
