The First Quarterly Conference of the above named church convened Friday night January 24, with Presiding Elder W. O. P. Sherman in charge.
Sister Lottie Morgan was elected as secretary of the conference and A. Thomas reporter to the different papers. The reports were splendid. Visitors present were Rev. M. A. Fountain of St. Philip church, Rev. S. Caines, and others.
Tobie Jones was elected as delegate to the District Conference at Metter in April. The Sunday session was interesting beginning with the Sunday school directed by Supt. J. W. Pierce.
Rev. S. R. Dinkins gave a wonderful black board demonstration which was enjoyed by all. At 11 o'clock the pastor presented Presiding Elder W. O. P. Sherman, who preached a soul stirring sermon. At 3:30 Rev. S. F. Andrews, pastor of Gaines Chapel delivered the gospel message, and at 6:30 the ACE League was called on by President A. Thomas. At night the presiding elder again delivered a strong sermon. We raised $61.15. Bethel church is happy to have Rev. S. R. Dinkins as pastor and Dr. W. O. P. Sherman as presiding elder.
