Expected to take some action at
once, since the contractor who
was awarded the short cut project
has given orders for the work of
clearing the right of way to begin
tomorrow at noon.

The short cut project on which
the bid was let by the State High-
way & Public Works Commission
on January 29 will run from a
point just north of Belcross in
Camden County to a point near
Barco in Currituck County. It will
cut off 7.2 miles between this city
and Dare County and will cost
$291,000.
