Oct. 13.-Mrs. August Broman and Mrs. Edith Strong entertained the following at supper Monday: Rev. and Mrs. Gidion Carlson of Galva, Ill., Rev. and Mrs. Nels W. Bard and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nelson, Jewel Nelson and Nellie Peterson.
Mrs. Maurice Nelson of Grove City attended the ladies aid at the Bethlehem church last Friday.
Misses Lillian and Mildred Nelson, Clara Christenson and Mildred Blomberg and Clarence Anderson and Melvin Berg were among those from Atwater who attended the street fair at Dassel last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nelson and Mrs. Reuben E. Linquist were visitors in Willmar last Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. John Knudson and Mrs. George Peterson attended a women's mission meeting held at Spicer on Sunday. Mrs. Peterson was a delegate from the Bethlehem Lutheran church of Atwater.
Rev. and Mrs. Nels Bard and daughter Virginia and Rev. and Mrs. Gidion Carlson attended the ladies' aid at Junior Johnson's in Fahlun last Thursday afternoon. Both the pastors took part in the program.
Mr. and Mrs. Nels Blomberg and daughter Lucilie accompanied by Mrs. Anton Jenson and son Bobbie of Lake Elizabeth were guests on Sunday at the A. Norrander home south of Kerkhoven.
Misses Evelyn Johnson and Helen Lund of Atwater spent Sunday in Minneapolis. They motored down with Mr. and Mrs. Walfred Lund and family of Litchfield.
Guy and Venfred Larson and Jonas Hydeen attended a meatman's convention held at Willmar last Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Nordstrom attended the street fair at Dassel last Friday.
Mrs. C. J. Swenson of St. Peter spent part of last week visiting at the Rev. Arnold Nelson home here. Mrs. Swenson is Mrs. Nelson's mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Dassel were guests Sunday at the Geo. McBroom home here. The McBrooms also entertained guests from the cities on Sunday.
Mrs. Alfred Carlson and Mrs. Leonard Holmgren were Litchfield callers last Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Larson entertained the following at dinner on Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Peterson and family of New London; Louis Larson of Spicer, Mr. and Mrs. Linnie Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Paulson of Willmar, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Hokanson and son Kenneth, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Kragenbring and two children and Allen and Lester Ferguson, from near Diamond Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Venfred Larson of Atwater.
Mrs. I. J. Anderson of Irving has the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Hovey.
Mr. and Mrs. John Lundblad and son Thorvald left last Friday for Fulda. Mrs. Lundblad and Thorvald will remain there with their daughter and husband, Mr. and Spencer Engan. Mr. Lundblad will return and expects to spend the winter with his son Henry Lundblad and family, north of Kandiyohi.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Broman visited at the Mrs. Anna Broman home, south of Kandiyohi, last Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lund and family from south of Litchfield visited at the C. W. Johnson home here on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dahl of Willmar came Friday to spend some time at the Wilson-Reamer home, north of the village.
William Martinson returned to Chicago Tuesday of last week after a few days visit at the home of his brother here, Ed. Martinson.
John Sandberg of Minneapolis visited with his grandmother, Mrs. Christine Nelson and with the Victor Nelson family from Thursday until Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ferguson motored to Waverly last Sunday where they visited with friends.
Mrs. Nels Blomberg and daughter Mildred and Hazel DeFoe were Litchfield callers Saturday.
Mrs. J. P. Lindquist and daughters Ida and Mrs. Esther Isaacson were visitors in Willmar last Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Erickson of Grove City is visiting at the home of her daughter here, Mrs. Guy Larson, arriving last week from Kandiyohi where she had been visiting the past five weeks with relatives.
Rev. and Mrs. Nels Bard and family and Rev. and Mrs. Gidion Carlson motored to St. Paul Saturday and were accompanied home by Miss Bernice Eide who is attending Hamline and who spent Sunday at her home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Patterson and two sons and Andrew Quist from southwest of town visited at the A. Norrander home south of Kerkhoven last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Larson of St. Paul called at the C. W. Johnson and Adolph Escen homes here last Saturday.
Mrs. C. F. Slader and Misses Edna Peterson and Myrtle, Gladys and Hannah Holmberg motored up from Minneapolis Saturday for an over Sunday visit with Miss Nellie Peterson. The above named were entertained at the Chas. Holmberg home at 6 o'clock dinner Saturday.
Supt. and Mrs. Alfred Olson of Atwater are parents of a son born Friday at Fairview hospital, Minneapolis. Mr. Olson has been in Minneapolis for a few days.

Miss Hazel DeFoe assisted at the Wm. Wheeler home in Harrison for a few days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ancel Danielson and baby of Minneapolis visited over the week-end at the Frank Danielson home here.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Johnson and daughter Evelyn, Helen Lund and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Escen and two sons attended the fair at Dassel Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Niece and family of Minneapolis visited here over the week-end with Mrs. M. Skoglund and daughter Nancy and at the Simon Salmonson home.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson of Minneapolis spent from Wednesday until Sunday in Atwater and were guests at the homes of relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Nels Peterson and family were Litchfield callers last Thursday afternoon.
Anniversary Surprise.
Sunday, Oct. 5, was the 10th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allison of northwest of Atwater, and a large number of friends made the occasion a memorable one by dropping in at their home that evening, unannounced. The party met at the G. A. Stark home in the village about 8 o'clock, and went out to the Allison home. A delicious lunch including a large decorated wedding cake, was served at a late hour. Following an appropriate talk by Dr. I. L. Porter, a purse of money was presented to the couple. Mr. Allison responded. The evening was spent in dancing and playing cards. The visitors departed at a late hour, wishing Mr. and Mrs. Allison many more happy anniversaries.
Oct. 16-Rev. and Mrs. Hoifield and son of Duluth visited friends in Atwater the first of the week. They had been here to attend the 60th anniversary celebration of the Arndale church held last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Evanson and daughter Ruth were Litchfield callers last Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Jesse Hillman and daughter Lorraine of Alma, Wis., visited with friends in Atwater the first part of the week. The Hillman's were former residents of Atwater when Mr. Hillman was employed as a barber here.
Mrs. Christine Westlund entertained the Women's Home and Foreign Missionary society of the M. E. church at her home last Thursday.
Elmer Peterson of Seton arrived last Tuesday for a few days stay at the home of his parents here, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Peterson.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Holm and family were guests at the Clarence Larson home at Willmar last Sunday.
Rev. and Mrs. Hoifield and son of Duluth and Mr and Mrs. B. P. Samstad and daughter Donna were dinner guests at the Thom Quello home last Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nelson entertained a company of friends at their home last Wednesday afternoon. About 5 o'clock a delicious tray lunch was served.
Joseph Isaacson and Miss Lutina Glader motored up from Minneapolis on Thursday for a few days stay.
Mrs. Arvld Larson and four children of Lake Elizabeth visited at the Sam Gronberg home here last Tuesday evening.
Oct. 18.-Rev. and Mrs. Nels Bard motored to St Paul on Saturday. They returned home Saturday evening accompanied with their daughter, Bernice, who is attending the Hamline U. Miss Bernice returned to St. Paul on Sunday evening.
Supt. and Mrs. A. J. Olson are the happy parents of a baby boy born Friday evening.
Rev and Mrs. Nels Bard and daughters Bernice and Virginia and son were entertained at supper at the Reuben Broman's home on Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Larson motored to Kandiyohi Friday evening to visit with Mrs. Larsons' brother and family. They also were accompanied back with Mrs. Larson's mother Mrs. E. Erickson who visited with the Larson family for a few days before she left for her home at Grove City.
Mrs. Ed Sanderson of Willmar visited at the Richard Johnson's home on Wednesday.
Burton Martin motored up from Minneapolis Wednesday to spend a few days here.
Mr. and Mrs. Aldo Carlson of Rosendale entertained a number of friends from here at dinner at their home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Larson attended a party at Mrs. Larson's mother Mrs. E. Erickson at her home on Wednesday evening at Grove City in honor of her birthday anniversary. A large number of relatives were present.
Miss June Daniels who is employed in Willmar spent Tuesday at her parental home north of Atwater.
Oct. 16.-Mrs. G. A. Stark and daughter Ebba and son Ralph were Willmar callers last Monday afternoon.
Nels Blomberg attended a meeting of the Sinclair Oil company held at the Lakeland Hotel at Willmar last Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Holm and family visited at the J. P. Carlson home at Willmar last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peterson, Mrs. George Roetzer and Mrs. Ella Rosenquist were Willmar callers last Wednesday afternoon.
Rev. and Mrs. Gideon Carlson left Thursday for their home at Galva, Ill., stopping at St. Paul for a visit with relatives enroute. The Carlsons have been visiting at the Rev. Nels Bard home here for over a week and during their stay here Rev. Carlson has been conducting evening services at the Atwater and Rosendale M. E. churches.
Gerald Holm entertained ten of his boy friends at a weiner roast at the tourist park last Monday afternoon, the occasion being his tenth birthday anniversary.
Moses DeFoe and daughter Hazel motored to Cottonwood last Tuesday for a few days visit with relatives.
Misses Ebba Stark and Marion Bergstrom went to Minneapolis last Wednesday evening for a visit with relatives. They motored down with Arthur Mehlum who is employed at Willmar and was enroute to his home at Minneapolis. The girls also visited at the Mehlum home.
Oct. 20.-Misses Lillian and Mildred Nelson and Mildred Blomberg spent the week-end in Minneapolis returning home Saturday evening.
Mrs. Christine Nelson visited at the home of her son, Chas. Nelson at Grove City Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Nelson of Minneapolis were entertained at the Paul Elliott home last Sunday.
The following composed a party that motored up from Minneapolis Saturday evening: Frank Nelson and son Ralph, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Nel son. Misses Evelyn Lavendyske and Amy Jones and Mr. Ralph Sand. They were guests at the William Nelson on Saturday evening and on Sunday the entire party including Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson were entertained at the C. A. Swan home in Lake Elizabeth, together with a number of other friends.
