A correspondent says, he was by when the Plenipo from the Committee of State-menders at Appleby's in Parliament-street presented the Westminster Remonstrance to his Majesty last Wednesday at the Levee, and does most solemnly declare, that in the space of forty-five years, in which he has occasionally frequented St. James's Palace, without the blessing of a place or pension, he never saw any Address, Remonstrance and Petition whatsoever delivered into the King's hand with so little ceremonial decency and respect; no genuflection being made, or scarce a bending of the body; for the truth of this he appeals to the several gentlemen who were present, and made particular remarks.
The Friends of administration make no scruple to openly declare, that proper lodgings are preparing for some of the patriots; and some of ministerialists offered wages yesterday, that a certain haranguer of the mob (to use their phrase) and also the Chairman of a late public Meeting, will be in confinement, if they do not evade it by flight, before the end of the ensuing week.
