GRADE CROSSING RESULTS IN SUITS.

By The Associated Press.

JONESBORO, Ga., July 10.- Four suits asking $300,000 damages of the Central of Georgia Railway were filed in Clayton superior court today as a result of the automobile train accident at "Rock Cut crossing" on the afternoon of April 12, in which one person was killed and seven others are said to have been injured.

All of the suits were filed by Hill and Adams, Atlanta attorneys, and set for hearing at the August term of court.

According to petitioners, they were driving across the tracks when a passenger train operated by the Central of Georgia road, dashed from a deep cut and crashed into a machine in which they and four others were riding. Petitions claim the train sounded no whistle or bell and gave no warning of the approaching train, which it is claimed was traveling 60 miles an hour.

There also was no crossing sign to warn autoists and others coming along the road of the danger, they assert.

The four suits were filed in behalf of Mrs. C. A. Peacock, Jr., who asks $100,000 for personal injuries and $80,000 for the death of Charney Peacock, her five-year-old son. C. A. Peacock, Jr., who seeks $80,000, $55,000 for the loss of services for his wife and $25,000 for medical and other expenses incurred, and $40,000 for injuries he is said to have sustained at the time of the accident.

The petitions set out that the defendant company's employees did not administer to the injured immediately after the accident, and when they were finally placed on the train to be taken to the hospital, they were placed in the baggage car.

Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Peacock, Sr., and two of their grandchildren also were injured, according to the petitioners.
