The Trouble on the 'Frisco Extension in the Territory Settled.
Special to the Gazette.
Paris, Tex., March 5.—The latest word from the Nation this evening in regard to the railroad trouble was that it was all settled without bloodshed by the Choctaw light horse under the command of Captain Elbridge, who arrived on the scene to-day. General Manager W. S. Dunn, who has been in the city for several days, went out to the river this morning and by a detachment brought two or three of the leaders to Arthur City and had a talk with them.
At first the men refused to lay their guns down and agree to let the work go on from where they had stopped. But when Manager Dunn could do no more he gave orders to Captain Elbridge to arrest and take to Fort Smith all the men who interfered with the work. It was then the rioters agreed to disband and let the work go on and risk getting what they claim. No arrests were made and everything is quiet now. The men will be paid as soon as the pay roll can be straightened up. It was telegraphed from Fort Smith that Colonel Fruin was killed by the strikers, but it is false.
