Above 300 of the most respectable attorneys in this kingdom met, and entered into an address of thanks to the late Prime Serjeant for his spirited, upright, and patriotick conduct in Parliament, and resigning his gown at a time, when holding an office under the crown seemed to combat with the dearest interests of his country.
We are informed that the counties of Down and Armagh are preparing addresses to the same purpose, which it is thought will be followed by all the counties in the kingdom.
The present hour seems to furnish the most important scene that ever agitated any nation. Armed with spirit and resolution sufficient to turn the fate of an empire, Ireland awaits for the answer of the English Parliament. Should its just demands be acceded to, the British empire may yet be considered as a rival to the confederate force of Europe. Should ill-judged policy and sordid maxims be still the leading principles of a sister kingdom, the alternative must be dreadful.
Ireland lies under great obligation to the Americans. Had they tamely submitted to taxation, would we have dared to apply for a free trade.

Ireland, resolved, awaits the English Parliament's answer on its demands; success could strengthen the British empire against European forces, while refusal would be dreadful.
