PORTSMOUTH.

Extract of a Letter from Boston, Oct. 4.

"I have to acquaint you, that this Morning Capt. Fellows arrived here from Maryland, who informs, that on Thursday Morning last off New-York, he spoke with the Weazel Sloop of War going Express to General Amherst: the Master told Capt. Fellows, that he had been only 35 Days from England, and sailed in Company with Five Sail of Men of War, and Ten Transports bound to Newfoundland. I send you this Piece of Intelligence on Account of its coming in after the News-Papers were published."
