Full Text

It were to be wished, that the Duke of Grafton, who has lately given us one single specimen of his incorruptibility, would, like his temper, S. V-, make an affidavit before the Lord Mayor, that he never was privy, directly nor indirectly, to any sum of money given to, or received by Miss Nancy Parsons, for the purchase of any place, mediately or immediately, in his disposal; or that he will take his oath, that Miss Nancy is not worth 12,000l. in hard money, besides jewels, apparel, furniture, &c. or that the 12,000l. above-mentioned, was a gift out of his own private purse, and not out of the public money.
