CIO President Philip Murray will make his first major television and radio address of the 1952 campaign on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
His speech will be broadcast over the entire 202-station radio network of the Columbia Broadcasting System at 10:15 p.m., EST.
It will also be telecast over the basic CBS-TV network at 10:30 p.m., EST.
Difficulties in clearing television time made it impossible to list TV stations carrying the broadcast at this time, the CIO Publicity Department said, adding that it would notify CIO officials in all cities carrying the broadcast as to time and station.
CIO has unanimously endorsed Governor Adlai Stevenson and Senator John Sparkman, Democratic presidential and vice-presidential nominees, and the Democratic Party platform.
Mr. Murray's speech will be keyed to the issues which mean bread and butter to the American people and peace or war for the whole world.
In his first nationally-broadcast political statement of the campaign Mr. Murray will cut through the propaganda raised by the opposition and pin-point the social and economic decisions at stake in this election.
