Lodge 246 Fetes 24 Retired Vets

CHAPLEAU, Ont.- Twenty-four members were honored recently at the initial presentation banquet and dance in honor of retired members of Lodge 246.

Each was presented with an engraved purse, suitably filled, and a memorial scroll, reports J. A. Ladrouaur, publicity chairman 246, and general chairman of presentation banquet.

Membership emblems were also awarded to a number of 246 aides at the banquet.

Other honored retired veterans, besides those named in the photo above, who were not available when the picture was taken, were: Samuel McGregor, Jack Radke, Bull Sutcliff, Frank Clement, George Tepping, and Colin Campbell.

Receiving membership pins were Ernest Bernier, 45-year; Bob Dillon, Bob Keays, Alfred Robinson, 40-year; Billie Moyle and John Marice, 35-year; Peter Therriault, Richard Carmichael, 30-year.

Max Brunnette, former local chairman of Lodge 246, was also to have been honored at this event. He and his son, Leo, a Lodge 245 member, met death by drowning last fall in a hunting accident.
