Continuing their protest against the plan to release Japanese boys and girls in relocation centers for the purpose of continuing their education or enabling them to secure employment, American Legion Auxiliary county council members discussed the matter at length at their meeting Monday in Brawley.
In addition the council voted to petition the county board of supervisors to place a matron at the border to prevent minors from crossing, explaining to Mexican officials that this action is requested only because Mexico has no law prohibiting the sale of liquor to minors, just as in this state protest has been made against the marriage laws in Arizona and Nevada which do not protect youth as do those in California.
Announcement was made that the next 22nd district meeting will be on May 9, 10 a.m. in DeWitt C. Mitchell hall, San Diego.
The remainder of Monday's meeting was devoted to routine reports of units, and later, to the usual social hour at which the Brawley members were hostesses.
