New Insurance Company.—At a meeting of the corporators of the "Alexandria Insurance Company," held on Monday evening at the insurance office of Messrs. Geo. K. Wimmer & Co., King street, the following gentlemen were appointed to advertise and make all other arrangements necessary to the opening of books of subscription to the capital stock of said company: Gen. N. D. Corse, Geo. H. Robinson, E. S. Leadbeater, Wm. Cogan and Jas. F. Carlin. These gentlemen, according to agreement, met at the Banking House of W. D. Corse & Co., at 11 o'clock this morning, when it was decided to open books of subscription on Monday the 21st inst. at the above named Banking House. Much interest was manifested at both meetings in the enterprise, and there seems to be no doubt that the amount necessary to organize the company will be speedily raised. As a purely Alexandria enterprise its success is very desirable.
