Aaron Cummings was convicted, on two indictments, for passing counterfeit money, and sentenced to 20 days solitary confinement. and 5 years hard labor in the State Prison : Amos Davis to 4 years hard labor in do.; William Curtis for polygamy, 6 months imprisonment in the common gaol, and a fine of $100 and costs; Edward Shawnessey and Wm. Homer, two boys, for petty larceny, each 6 months imprisonment in the common gaol, and to pay a fine of $10 and costs. James Owens was indicted and tried for attempting to pass a counterfeit bill. but acquitted upon the ground; that as he stole the bill, he had no reason to believe it was forged. James Owens & John Dean, were severally tried for stealing from Mr. Peduzzi, and found guilty by the verdict of the Jury, who found the amount stolen to be over $40. A question of law was raised, which was continued for further advisement till Feb. term.
Joshua Rand was discharged from the indictments found against him. Wallace's trial for store breaking, &c. was postponed.
We understand that a large portion of the business was continued to the next term.
