On the first Instant marched for Fort Edward, one Company of the Royal Artillery, the Royal Highland Regiment, and the Massachusetts Provincials; and the Sunday following were followed by his Excellency General AMHERST, Colonel Montgomery's Highlanders, and the New-Jersey Provincials, who are looked upon to be a fine Regiment. The Troops that General Amherst has taken up to Fort Edward, are, the First Battalion of the Royal Scotch; 17th Regiment, 27th, 42d, 55th, 63d, General Gage's Light Infantry; Rhode-Island, Connecticut, and New-Jersey Provincials.
Gone up the Mohawk River with General Prideaux, 8th Battalion of the Royal Americans, 44th and 46th Regiments, and the New York Provincials.
Four Vessels of Force are building upon Lake George, and are in great forwardness.
Tis reported that a Number of Carpenters, being on their Way to Oswego, Were attacked by a large Party of the Enemy, and all taken Prisoners.
