The Defensive Treaty, lately concluded between their Britannick and Prussian Majesties, provides, That there shall be a lasting friendship and Alliance between them: That they shall always act in concert; and if one is threatened with an attack, the other shall interfere to prevent it; if the interference should not have effect, and if Prussia is attacked, then Great-Britain is to furnish Prussia with 16,000 infantry, and 4000 cavalry, in two months after demand--and so vice versa--if the requiring party should prefer money to land forces, it has its choice: And by the last article, both parties agree to act in concert at all times, for maintaining and securing the independence and government of the United Netherlands.
