From the Wheeling Gazette of Saturday last.

Weirich.—A further discovery.—The letters which were sent from this place in the way-mail on the 8th (the day previous to the apprehension of Weirich) did not reach Washington, Pa. and it was at first supposed that he had destroyed them, as he returned to his office after he had set out for Wheeling on the morning of the 9th, and was observed to throw a packet in the fire. But after the return of the Jailor from Pittsburg, whither he had escorted Weirich, some disclosures were made by the prisoners with whom he had been confined, which induced our Post-Master to search the apartment, and on Thursday last the missing letters were found in the vault of the privy. There were five packets. One from Wheeling, two from Marietta, one from New-Athens, and one from Fishing Creek, containing in the whole 75 letters, a list of which has been handed us for publication, but we have room only for the directions of those which appear to be of most importance from the amount of postage.

In the Wheeling packet,
N. Robinson, Jun. Esq. Collector, Richmond, Va. ¼ oz. Paid 9¼.
E. Jenkins & Son, Baltimore, Md. .... ¼ 37½.
Messrs. Craig, Holmes & Co. Phil. Pa. ¾.
Mr. Hanson McMichen, Union, Pa.... . ¼0.

It is known that these letters contain some Bank notes and checks amounting to more than $3,000.

Marietta Packet.
James Corry, Pittsburgh, ½0
Henry David Wood, Esq. New-York. ...... ½0

The letters have all been forwarded.

[So much for turning out an honest Adams man and putting in a Jackson rogue.]
