The Courier-Journal's Frankfort correspondent says: Mr. Kehoe's amendment to chapter thirty-three of the General Statutes provides for a material and very proper change in the time for the commencement of the term of Constables and Justices of the Peace of this State. Under the present law they take possession of their respective offices in June, nearly a year after their election. Mr. Kehoe's bill provides that they shall be elected in August and assume the duties of their respective offices on the first day of September, or as soon thereafter as they have secured their commission and qualified thereunder.
