The St. Joseph Manager Given a $1 Verdict Against the Actor.
St. Joseph, Mo, Oct. 27 - In the case of Richard Mansfield, actor, against E S. Brigham, manager of the Crawford theater here, for $500 alleged balance on a $1,500 guarantee the jury to-day returned a verdict of $1 in favor of the defendant, thus sustaining the manager's contention that the Mansfield performance here last year had fallen below representations. A feature of the trial was the quasi-expert testimony of local society girls
