EDITOR: ATLANTA DAILY WORLD: God save black college students from leaders like Attorney Thomasina Johnson, Legislation Representative of the National Non-Partisan Council on Public Affairs, A. K. A., who told or urged Morris Brown College Students to "Think Rebelliously. If we are ever going to enjoy the Four Freedoms, Negroes must be accorded their constitutionally guaranteed privilege of universal suffrage. Then we must start thinking about it, doing something about it and gradually moving in the direction of complete democracy if we are ever to enjoy it."
I want to know why does the Negro have to get democracy gradually? This Black Woman Lawyer seems to think herself inferior to any white lawyer or she wouldn't talk or use such words as accorded, and privilege instead she would say 'Negroes must fight for their constitutionally guaranteed rights of universal suffrage.
As for this gradually business I say lets fight for our rights. Why not a clear cut program of democracy at home before dying abroad. This would make the United Nations act for they are well aware that they could not hope to win this war without our loyal and unsparing support, and they would have thereby forced, by united action, the powers that be to grant us full consideration, in all their Pre-present and Post-war aims and plans. Is it not a fact that speaks for itself? Again, I repeat, God save black college students from leaders like Attorney Thomasina Johnson.
