London, March 24. Some Letters from that Part of Guinea call'd the Grain Coast, give us an Account of the unfortunate Death of Capt. Fothergill, in the Success Sloop: It seems the last Voyage he made, he had some Dispute with the People living on the Banks of the River Sherboro, but the whole Affair was thought to be over; notwithstanding which, as soon as his Ship arriv'd this last Time in that River, and the Captain went on Shore in the Boat several of the Natives surrounded them, and seizing the Captain, cut off his Head with a Hatchet; but gave the rest to understand that they would not injure them, and they accordingly departed without doing them or the Ship any Damage whatsoever.
