Yesterday arrived here, the schooner Dove Capt Town from Marigalante, via St. Eustatia, left the former place on the 4th ult and the latter on the 8th do.
He was informed at Marigalante, that 3000 troops only, had arrived at Port Liberty, from France, and that a fleet of 60 sail of armed vessels including transports and store ships with a number of troops on board, were getting ready at Port Liberty, to go against Martinique, which place, they expected to conquer in a short time.
Capt. Town, says that the Commodore of the French fleet, who was arrested at Point a Petre, at his arrival there, was honorably acquitted and that Mr. O'Brien, was still kept in confinement.
He also informs, that all the Americans which were detained at Marigalante, had been released, and that the brig Sally, Hayes, was to have sailed from thence for Philadelphia in a short time after he left that place.
