Paratroopers Will
Return In February

Major J.G. Thomson, who heads a group of five specialists from the 7th Army Special Forces, gave a brief talk before the Chamber of Commerce Monday about the work they are doing here this week.

Major Thomson explained that the 7th Special Forces are made up of volunteers and are preparing for anti-guerrilla action by air drop. They have made one jump here already and will also make parachute jumps at Kotzebue, Pt. Hope, Gambell, and Wales.

On Feb. 6, a full team of 12 will arrive as an advance group for paratroop work and on Feb. 15 a reinforced platoon which will work with the Alaska National Guard, is expected to be here in action with about 50 men participating.

Maj. Thomson's group here now is from Fort Bragg.
