Charleston Courier.

A gentleman who came passenger in the ship Tennessee, Capt. Fowler at New York has handed a New Orleans paper of the evening of March 11. Business in New Orleans was very dull, and freights very low, owing to the low stage of water in the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

The Ohio river was closed with ice some distance below Louisville, on the 21st Feb. but commenced rising on the 2d of March, and it was expected the ice would soon break up.

The Tennessee made her passage from the Balize to Cape Hatteras in 8 days.
