IRREGULARITY OF THE MAILS.

The irregularity of the mails for a few weeks past, is a subject of serious complaint, and ought to be inquired into by proper authority. For two nights in succession we did not receive a single paper from south of Hartford, although several were due. That one mail should fail in bad going is not strange, but that two in succession should, can be accounted for only by supposing neglect somewhere. At the time this is written there are several papers from the south which were due four mails back, and are, probably, now safely lodged in some office betwixt this and New York.
