CORRECTION.
BALTIMORE, MD., Jan. 9, 1879.
I see you have transferred to your columns the letter I wrote to the New York Observer as to "The House of Stuart." As your paper circulates where some of the parties have lived or are now living, I wish to correct a mistake I made in saying that the lineal heir of the Earldom of Traquair is a grandson of Dr. Stuart Griffin, through his son James, recently deceased. The latter had no son. The heir is a grandson of Dr. Griffin, but through his daughter, females being recognized in the line of descent.

Main Argument
corrects a mistake in a previous letter stating that the lineal heir of the earldom of traquair is a grandson of dr. stuart griffin through his son james, who had no son; the heir is actually through his daughter, as females are recognized in the line of descent.
