Gov. Ritchie of Maryland is to be the guest of the Iroquois Club at its annual banquet Jan. 8th. A delegation of 150 men, headed by Mayor Dever, including congressmen, judges, members of the legislature, city officials, bankers, brokers and business executives, has been appointed a reception committee to greet Gov. Ritchie, who will arrive here Jan. 8 for the annual Jackson day celebration, under the auspices of the Iroquois club, it was announced by Ross C. Hall, chairman of the arrangement committee.
Gov. Ritchie, one of the militant Democrats of the East, frequently mentioned as a presidential "hope" for 1928, will be the guest of honor and only speaker at the Iroquois club banquet to be held in the Louis XVI room of the Hotel Sherman.
Gov. Ritchie is serving his third term as chief executive of Maryland, smashing all precedents when re-elected for the second time, as no governor since the days of the Carrols in Maryland had succeeded himself.
