Committee to assist the Lord Mayor and Alderman Wilkes and Oliver in their defence, &c,
Resolved unanimously, that Mr. Solicitor do apply tomorrow to the Court of Common Pleas at Westminster for a Habeas Corpus for the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, & to the Court of Exchequer for the like writ for Mr. Alderman Oliver, provided he should be advised that such court can and are bound to take cognizance of such matter; and if that court cannot or are not bound to take such cognizance, that then he make such applications to the court of Common Pleas on behalf of both the said magistrates.
