The Colored Masons

The colored Knights of Templar celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Grand Commandery in this State. The occasion was a joyous one and will long be remembered.

Wright's band met the distinguished visitors at the depot. Henry Harris of Washington, George L. Bird and George L. Bunting of Baltimore, and W. S. Smithers of West Chester, all of whom are prominent members of the order, and escorted them to their hall on West Eleventh street.

At the hall an entertainment was given and refreshments were served. In the afternoon there was a short street parade headed by Wright's band, and in the evening a meeting was held in Turn Hall. This meeting was addressed by the visitors and by other prominent members of the order.
