TWO REVOLUTIONS THREATENED IN HONDURAS

Foreign Interests Fear Serious Trouble Unless They Are Afforded Protection by United States.

[By Morning Journal Special Leased Wire]

Puerto Cortes, Honduras, Dec. 10 - In New Orleans. The new breastworks have been obstructed here, and Maxim guns mounted commanding the harbor. Foreign interests fear a double revolution is imminent, and that foreigners will suffer unless protection is afforded by the United States. Policarpo Bonilla is believed to be in Mexico fitting out an expedition to attack Puerto Cortes and Ceiba, and an attack by force under former President Miguel Bonilla in a revolutionary movement distinct from that of Policarpo Bonilla also is feared. An alarming feature of the situation is that many of the troops are disloyal. It is said that cohorts of them will desert at a favorable opportunity. Soldiers are hurrying here from San Pedro Sula and other nearby points. The government has placed an embargo on cables, making it impossible to send anything out by wire. The steamship lines are now the only means of communication. Some of the boats are fitted with wireless apparatus, the use of which the government cannot prohibit. Conflicting reports have reached here from the interior about riots and clashes between rival political factions. The Policarpo-Bonilla faction is active in the interior, but the extent of their strength is not learned. The government ordered the arrest of Manuelito Antonio Bonilla, a relative of Policarpo Bonilla but he escaped by sailing for Mobile before the order arrived. Sentiment on the Caribbean coast of Honduras is in favor of Manuel Bonilla who is in New Orleans. He is not related to Manuelito or Policarpo Bonilla.
