Price High School students voted five to one for Eisenhower and Nixon in a student Presidential Election conducted by the Problems of Democracy class on Friday morning, Nov. 2
The results of the mock election in which approximately 1200 students participated, showed the Republican candidates receiving a total of 1,001 votes or 84 per cent of the total votes cast, and the Democrats receiving 195 votes or 16 per cent of the total votes cast. A total of 1196 students (78 per cent of the total school population) voted, while only 334 students (22 per cent of the total school population) did not cast votes. The total enrollment of the school is 1530 students.
The members of the Students Committee which conducted the poll are as follows: Harriett Walthall, Maudett Hill, Gloria Gooden, Jona Graves, Juliette Gleaton, Calvin Dumas, and Doris Clark, Chairman.
The Price High student body has shown a definite interest in the national election this year and the students promise to be intelligent voters in the future.
