A number of American citizens from Jamaica, who have established a guano company and have been shipping guano despite the warning of the United States Consul here and the government of Jamaica, have been driven off the Keys by Her Majesty's steamer Blanche and brought here. A Captain Jennet claims to have discovered the Keys and to have taken possession of them in the name of the United States, and protests against the conduct of the Jamaica authorities.
