Tribal Outrages Reported in India

NEW DELHI, June 1 (UP)-

Martial law was proclaimed at noon today by British authorities for the Sind area of northern Bombay presidency because of "increasing outrages" by tribesmen, and punitive measures were reported under way.

There have been a series of attacks by the Sind tribesmen recently.

The announcement of martial law said that "outrages are occurring on an increasing scale" and it was understood that a mixed force of British and Indian troops were operating against the tribesmen.
