Full Text

Jack be nimble; Jack be quick; Jack, for gosh sakes, hit for the sticks. That's probably what Bobby Brooks, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brooks, north of city farmer, thought the other day when he was chased by a buck deer and treed.

Bobby and his dog were in the field the other day when Buck suddenly appeared and gave chase to the dog. Abandoning him he wheeled on Bobby who was already making his exit for the nearest tree. Only a few feet out of harm's way, he sighed his breath of relief as Old Buck pawed below. It is said he chased one farmer's dog right up to the front porch on the next day.

Some give the explanation that the buck was fed when young and partly tamed, and when they're tamed, they become ugly. Change of climate is said to affect some persons, perhaps he can't get used to something here in the south country. Maybe he has worries at home, too.
