Tacoma Golfers Do Well in Intercity Sweepstakes Play

SEATTLE—Chuck Congdon carded a 70 over the Rainier Golf Club course yesterday to win first money in the intercity open sweepstakes.

Walter Pursey, Seattle, was second with a one-under-par 71.

Warren Kofoed of Tacoma and Ken Tucker, Everett, tied for third with 72 each.

Bud Lehman of Brookdale, Tacoma, checked in among the amateurs with a card of 75-7=68, low enough to share first division low net honors with Charley Humber of Sand Point, who had 77-9=68.

Those four-under-par net tallies, however, looked like high scores when Ken Kofoed, another Brookdale player, posted a card of 72-10=62.
