Saving Your Own Skin!

The average American woman spends a handsome annual sum on cosmetics. Though she buys everything under the sun she hears of or reads about and her cosmetic shelf overflows, she has no specialized knowledge of the contents of most of the variety of jars, boxes and bottles.

That's why one manufacturer offers an introductory cosmetics kit with a program of skin care which explains exactly what each product contains, how to use it and what effect it will have on the skin.

There are three basic steps in the program.

First you cleanse the skin with a hydrolyzed soil absorbing oil which does not contain emulsifiers such as wax, gum, starches or acids. It doesn't, therefore leave a residue on the skin that might clog the pores or retard skin circulation.

Next there is a "blushing oil," the purpose of which is to aid in encouraging the action of the blood at the surface of the skin and to hasten the removal of dead tissue. It is claimed this is just as beneficial to the skin in bringing the blood to its surface as standing on your head for ten minutes.

The third step is a complexion foundation which is combined with complexion lotion and dresses the face to protect it from oil, weather and make-up.

Powder is in a jar and is shaken on the puff. Rouge is in a container which releases color through the puff while you are using it. Lipstick is made of vegetable dye with a pomade base and is particularly good for the sensitive lipped girl.
