Friday evening in the Methodist Church basement eight girls met to form a Girl Scout troop.

Officers were elected as follows: Troop Secretary, Mary Wynne; Troop Treasurer, Jane Atkinson; Patrol Leader (for the 8-girl patrol formed at this meeting) Bobby Griffin.

The group of girls is being led by Miss Flora Fahlman, Leader, with Mrs. C. D. McPhail, Assistant Leader. The troop is being sponsored by the Rotary Club, and a troop committee has been chosen, composed of Mrs. Theodore Harrison, Mrs. J. W. Gray, T. O. Hickman, Waverly White and Douglas McPhail.

Troop meetings are being held every Friday night at 7:00 o'clock in the Methodist basement.

Members of the first patrol to organize who attended last Friday night's meeting are: Bobby Griffin, Anne Cousins, Jane Atkinson, June Purrington, Shirley Futrell, Barbara Fagala, Mary E. Wynne and Mary Spooner Harrison.
