Full Text

[Communicated.]

Mr. Editor—I have recently visited many of the poor of our town, and have ascertained that they are generally supplied with wood, provided by the benevolent interposition of the Young Men's Relief Society of this place; but have found some of them suffering much for provisions. I would respectfully invite the attention of the Common Council to this matter, and suggest that by putting the Soup House into immediate and active operation, they would afford much alleviation to the sufferings of the poor and indigent.

MOSES.
