Mission first at Hot Springs; Fourth at Columbia Falls

The Mission Rangers Saddle club had a total of 425 points at a recent Omoksee held in Hot Springs, and this gave them another first place in their string of victories this summer.

Those who featured in the winnings for the local club were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Miller, Florence Knopp and Barbara Miller. Charles A. Brooks was one of the judges at the Omoksee and his wife was one of the timekeepers.

Going to Hot Springs for the event from here were: Mr. and Mrs. Merle Miller and family. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. A. Brooks, Mrs. Frank Knopp and daughter, Miss Florence Knopp, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lambert, Mrs. Peggy Shane and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stroup.

Sunday, Aug. 15, the Rangers sent a good delegation to the 5th annual Rocky Mountain Riders Omoksee at Columbia Falls. Again, Charles A. Brooks was one of the judges and his wife one of the timekeepers.

Competition was keen at this meet. The local club placed fourth with a total of 245 points. Miss Florence Knopp was second high for women. Others who contributed toward the 245 points were: Ralph Coulter, Barbara Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Miller, Wayne Miller.

The locals placed second in the pony express race. This calls for a team of four riders. The Mission team was composed of Ralph Coulter, Florence Knopp, Wayne Miller and Merle Miller. Others participating in the riding games were Mrs. Peggy Shane, A. C. Brooks and Dick Lambert.

On Saturday. Aug. 28, the Ronan Range Riders will be the host club to the Western division Omoksee, Ronan.
