Polio Drive Funds From Ball Contest, Carnival Received

Ralph Sierra, chairman of the Monroe County chapter, National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, announced today that $38 in volunteer contributions were received at the Purate-Navy All-Star baseball game Sunday at the Navy Yard.

Sierra expressed gratification over the amount received since the adverse weather conditions reduced the attendance. Sierra also announced that he had received $118.32 from Monday's receipts of the Bistany Greater Shows Carnival.

Of this amount the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Volunteer Firemen each turned in $46.01, their total receipts for the day. Leo Bistany, proprietor of the carnival, turned in $26.30, five per cent of his receipts.

Sierra accepted the funds in behalf of Mrs. W. G. Harvey, county chairman of the March of Dimes Drive.
