Goldsboro is growing. The Messenger says :--

The opening of the spring season promises an abundance of work for our masons, carpenters, painters and laborers. Mr. Isaac F. Dortch will shortly put up a neat cottage residence on William street, near the college building; Mr. Borden contemplates the erection of a tasty dwelling on the vacant lot adjoining the residence of Mr. Sol. Weil; Col. Humphrey is considering the plans for a handsome residence on John street; Mr. E. B. Goelet will put up a comfortable brick dwelling on James street; Mr. L. H. Castex has bought his lot and contemplates erecting a very cozy dwelling, and we learn so do Mr. T. B. Hyman and Dr. J. D. Spicer--the four last having bought the vacant block on James street, one square north of the Presbyterian church. The new dwelling of Dr. Miller's, now in the course of erection, promises to be another handsome ornament to the town.
