The Augusta County Fair opens on the 17th inst., and bids fair to be better than ever before. The probability is that a much larger number and greater variety of articles will be exhibited and a larger number of persons from abroad will be in attendance.
Our ladies, farmers, mechanics and others should be preparing now to swell the number of home productions. We have heard very many speak of exhibiting articles, but the number should be the largest possible. Let us exhibit to strangers present—that we are a live people and such as it pays to come among and deal with. Not only send all the articles you can, but be present yourselves during the Fair, and make it, in addition, an annual time of relaxation from care and trouble, "a period of pleasant and profitable enjoyment."
